The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, declared that the former FIFA President Sepp Blatter deserves the Nobel Peace Prize. The boss of the world organization was kicked off the football in accusations of corruption, together with the President of UEFA Michel Platini.
Putin touched on the topic with Blatter during the traditional press conference before the end of the year in Moscow.
`Sepp Blatter is a very honest man who has contributed much to the development of modern football. His contributions on the humanitarian front is huge.`, said Putin.
`He always has used football, not only as a sport, but also as a tool to promote cooperation between people. Blatter was one of the people who should take the Nobel Peace Prize.`, said the President of Russia.
Russia is hosting the next World Cup in 2018, having won the vote in 2010.
