David Ferrer in the quarterfinals in Rio

David Ferrer recorded a new victory on the tournament on clay courts in Rio de Janeiro by the category "ATP 250" and ranked in the quarterfinals. Second-seeded Spaniard has inculcated over Timo De Bakker from Netherlands with 7: 6 (8), 2: 0 and has rejected of the opponent because of an injury.
In the first part the 32 years old Ferrer failed to break the submission of the qualifier De Bakker and came to a tiebreak. In it the ninth in the world rankings Iberian has managed to prevail very hard.
In the next round David Ferrer is up against the Argentine Juan Monaco.

The representative of the host Joao Sousa won in a match which has lasted more than a marathon. The Brazilian defeated over Blaz Rola from Slovenia with 6: 4, 6: 7 (9), 6: 4 after 3 hours and 2 minutes game. Sousa squandered three match points in the second half, but finally won with the powerful support of the audience in "Jockey Club Brasileiro".

On the quarter final the No88 of the world`s Joao Sousa meets Andreas Haider-Maurer from Austria.
