Federer in the quarter finals in Rome

Roger Federer qualified for the quarter finals of the "Masters 1000" tournament on clay courts in Rome. Federer, who is placed under No2 in the main draw, won with 6:3, 7:5 over Kevin Anderson (South Africa) in a match that lasted just over an hour. Federer`s opponent in the next stage of the tournament will be Tomas Berdych.

Federer started the match very strongly and after an early break managed to lead with 3:0 games. To the end of the first set Federer served on an very excellent level and even he didn`t allow to Anderson to consider returning to the attack. So only for 27 minutes Federer opened the scoring - 6:3.

The second set also started liking Federer, who broke in the first game, then confirmed for 2:0. In the seventh game, the former No1 in the world achieved a new breakthrough and led with 5:2, then serve from his side missed two match points, and allowing a breakthrough in the fight. A little later, at 5:4, Federer served for the match again, but again broke and allowed a second breaking and leveling the score - 5:5.

And just when it seemed that Anderson is ready to twist, Federer again took the control of what is happening on the court. Federer broke for 6:5, then closed the match with his serve.
