Roberta Vinci at a first Grand Slam semifinal

The Italian Roberta Vinci for a first time reached the WTA semifinal in singles at the Grand Slam. The winner of a Career Slam in doubles with Errani tennis player won with 6:3, 5:7, 6:4 over the unseeded Kristina Mladenovic from France after more than two and a half hours play in a game analyzed by sport tips full with twists and a lot of errors.

Vinci broke for 2:0. To the end of the part she did not allow her opponent to reach a break point. In the ninth game, Vinci reached two set-balls and realize immediately the first, after a re-tour of Mladenovic in the net.

At the beginning of the next part the French squandered six break points and finally Roberta took her submission for 1:1. In the next game, the 32 years old from Toronto came twice to a break point.
The reaction of Mladenovic was instantaneous. She led with 40:0 and gave back the break immediately. Kristina made another break for 4:2, but then she played a weak service game, which she lost. In the 12th game analyzed by sport tips the looking completely exhausted 22 years old French led with 40:15 and scored her second set-ball.

Mladenovic squandered three break points in the fourth game, before Vinci to take her submission for 2:2. After an one marathon game, the Italian managed to break and led with 4:3. Mladenovic asked for a physiotherapist on the court, who bandaged her left thigh. Roberta was serving for a place in the semifinals at 5:4. She reached to a match point, but her opponent reflected it. Anyway, the second re-tour of Kristina stopped at the net.

Vinci finished with 22 winners and 25 unforced errors and Mladenovic`s ratio was 51-64.

To reach the first final in a Grand Slam at singles, Roberta will play with the number one in the world Serena Williams.
