Soccer tip IOC will not extend suspension of North Korean Olympic Committee

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will restore the rights of the National Olympic Committee of the DPRK.

According to James McLeod, Director of the IOC Department for Relations with National Olympic Committees, the suspension of the DPRK NOC will not be extended - it will automatically end on December 31.

Earlier, North Korea refused to participate in the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, explaining this by the risks of the coronavirus pandemic. Because of this, in September 2021, the country`s NOC received a suspension until the end of 2022.
